Description

See the Mendes Thames 1 Light Glazed Oak FD30 Unfinished Fire Door in our Ilford showroom, alongside over 300 other doors on display.

The Thames is an engineered oak door with a solid core, giving it a reassuring weight and good stability. A single tall pane of clear etched glass lets light through while adding a decorative touch. It is supplied unfinished, ready for the oil, stain, varnish or paint of your choice.

As an FD30 fire door it gives up to 30 minutes of fire resistance when hung in a matching fire-rated doorset, so it is a good choice for kitchens, garages, loft conversions and flats where building regulations call for fire doors. The glazing is clear fire-rated glass, so the door keeps its 30 minute rating with the glass fitted. Odd size doors are our speciality. If your opening is a non-standard size, bring us your measurements and our own joinery workshop can make a door to fit.

Fitting and care

Store the door flat in the room where it will be hung, and seal all faces and edges, including the top and bottom, before fitting. A light sand with fine paper gives the best finish. Fire doors must be hung in a suitable fire-rated frame with intumescent seals, fire-rated hinges and, where required, a self-closer. Do not trim beyond the manufacturer's limits, or the fire rating may be affected.
