See the Stable 1 Light M&T Unglazed External Door (Open In) in our Ilford showroom, alongside over 300 other doors on display.

A traditional stable door that opens inwards, with a top half you can open on its own for fresh air while the bottom stays shut. It is a 44 mm engineered hardwood door with mortice and tenon joints, solid hardwood lippings and a thick hardwood veneer, and comes with a loose drip bar.

It is supplied unglazed and unfinished, ready for gloss, satin, stain or varnish. For a back door we suggest a weather bar at the bottom, a 5 lever sash lock on the top half and two security bolts on the bottom half. Odd size doors are our speciality, and our own joinery workshop can make hardwood frames to suit, including frames with a window above.

Fitting and care

External timber doors should be protected from rain and direct sunlight by a porch, canopy or overhang. Seal every face and edge, including the top and bottom, with a good exterior finish before hanging, and keep it maintained. We stock hardwood frame kits, weather bars, locks and bolts, and can fit within 10 miles of our shop.
